LOC Seeks Media Support for Eko 2026 Games in Lagos

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) is gearing up for the Eko 2026 Games, scheduled to take place in Lagos from October 1 to 15, with over 15,000 athletes competing in 28 sports across 10 venues. At a media parley in Lagos, Gbenga Omotoso, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee and Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, stressed the crucial role of the media in promoting the Games and enhancing Lagos' reputation as Africa's sporting hub.

Omotoso acknowledged the media's past contributions to the city's image and expressed the LOC's commitment to transparency and collaboration, inviting journalists to provide constructive criticism. He highlighted Lagos' history of successfully hosting major sporting events, including the National Sports Festival, and assured that the LOC aims to meet global standards with this edition.

The LOC views the media as a vital partner in shaping the narrative around the Games, which they hope will mark a significant milestone in Nigeria's sports development.
