Abure Faction of Labour Party Questions Judiciary's Role

Dr. Barri Johnson, the deputy nation youth leader of the Abure faction of the Labour Party, expressed strong criticism regarding recent court decisions that have impacted the party.

In an interview with Trust TV, Johnson described the judiciary as "disarray" and questioned its role in Nigeria's democracy. He emphasized that the Abure-led group remains the legitimate leadership of the Labour Party, in accordance with the party's constitution and the Electoral Act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Johnson alleged that the court's ruling undermines the internal structure of the party and raised concerns about the implications of such judgments on Nigeria's democratic future. He warned that the current political climate may not reflect the kind of democracy that Nigerians aspire to achieve, cautioning against a system characterized by criminality and undue judicial support.
