LPPC Suspends Mike Ozekhome's SAN Rank Amid Legal Issues

The Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) has suspended Chief Mike Ozekhome's rank as Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) pending the outcome of disciplinary proceedings. This decision was made during the LPPC's 173rd general meeting held on June 23, 2026, and was signed by Kabir Akanbi, the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court.

The suspension is in accordance with paragraph 26(6) of the guidelines for conferring the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria. The committee emphasized that the suspension aims to safeguard the integrity and dignity of the SAN rank.

Ozekhome is currently facing serious legal troubles, including allegations of fraud and forgery linked to a property dispute at 79 Randal Avenue, Neasden, London. The case has drawn significant attention, with the UK First Tier Property Tribunal dismissing his claims and finding evidence of fraud.

Additionally, a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the final forfeiture of the London property to the federal government, as no claimant successfully established ownership.
