Maku Rejects Nasarawa By-Election Results, Demands Fresh Poll

Labaran Maku, the Labour Party candidate in the Nasarawa North by-election, held a press briefing on Sunday in Wakama, Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, where he rejected the election results. Maku described the electoral exercise as a "complete sham," citing failures by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to follow electoral laws.

He called for the cancellation of the results and urged INEC to conduct a free and fair election. Maku raised concerns about alleged plans by the state government to rig the election and claimed that the electoral process did not reflect the will of the people.

He mentioned specific areas where irregularities occurred, including issues with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and allegations of tampering with voter data. Maku's claims were dismissed by the APC, with Ogaba Augustin, the party's public secretary, labeling them as unfounded gimmicks.

Maku called for federal government intervention to investigate the electoral process.
