Lufthansa Group Achieves Record €39.6 Billion Revenue

The Lufthansa Group achieved a historic revenue of €39.6 billion in 2025, representing a 5% increase compared to the previous year. The airline's adjusted operational profit (EBIT) rose significantly to €2.0 billion from €1.6 billion, with an improved operational margin of 4.9%.

The consolidated net income stood at €1.3 billion, broadly in line with the previous year. The company attributed its stable net income partly to valuation effects linked to loss carryforward, which limited further growth in earnings during the year.

Passenger airline capacity increased by 4%, with a stable seat load factor of 83.2%. The group transported 135 million passengers in 2025, a 3% year-on-year increase.

Despite operational challenges, including geopolitical tensions and delayed aircraft deliveries, the airline's ancillary revenue rose by 15%. The group noted that its carrier, Ita Airways, contributed €90 million to overall earnings, showcasing resilience amid global economic uncertainties.
