Super Falcons Squad Announced for Cameroon Friendlies

Coach Madugu has announced a 25-player squad for the Super Falcons ahead of high-profile friendlies against Cameroon, scheduled for February 28 and March 3, 2024. This preparation is crucial for the upcoming 2026 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) taking place in Morocco from March 17 to April 3, 2024.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade leads the squad alongside first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie. Other notable inclusions are Esther Okoronkwo and Chinwendu Ihezuo.

The squad also sees the return of experienced midfielder Ngozi Okobi Okeoghene, while Gift Mondai, who missed last year's Women AFCON, is back. New call-ups include England-based goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor and Mexico-based defender Chidinma Okek.

The squad aims to fine-tune their performance ahead of the continental showcase, with four semi-finalists from the tournament automatically qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil.
