Super Falcons Announce Squad for Cameroon Friendlies

Justin Madugu, the head coach of the Super Falcons, has invited 25 players to the squad for two friendly matches against the Cameroon women's national team, known as the Indomitable Lionesses. The matches are set to take place on February 28 and March 3, 2024, as part of the preparation for the 2026 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) scheduled in Morocco from March 17 to April 3, 2024.

Notable inclusions in the squad are captain Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozi. Midfielder Ngozi Okobi and forward Gift Mondai are making returns to the squad after absences, while Comfort Erhabor receives her first call-up.

Other players include established names like Esther Okoronkwo, Chinwendu Ihezuo, and Preciou Christoph. The Super Falcons aim to secure a strong performance in these friendlies to build momentum ahead of the WAFCON, where the top four teams will qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
