Leona Maguire Selected for Fourth Solheim Cup

Leona Maguire, ranked 83rd in the world, has been named a captain's pick by Europe captain Anna Nordqvist for her fourth Solheim Cup, scheduled for September 11 to 13 at Bernardus Golf Club in the Netherlands. Maguire joins three rookies: Julia Lopez Ramirez from Spain, Mimi Rhodes from England, and Nastasia Nadaud from France.

Despite missing four cuts in her last six tournaments, Maguire was the highest-ranked European not to secure an automatic place on the team. Nordqvist praised Maguire's passion for the European team and her proven record in match play.

The automatic qualification for the team concluded after the British Open, with eight players securing spots through the European Tour points list and world rankings. The U.S. team, captained by Angela Stanford, will be finalized after the CPKC Women’s Open, which takes place from August 20 to 23.
