Borno and Yobe States Identified as Terrorism Hotspots

On Wednesday, General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), addressed the media upon his arrival in Borno State, attributing the ongoing terrorism in Northeast Nigeria primarily to Borno and Yobe states. He highlighted that the region has faced multiple bomb attacks recently, particularly during Ramadan, and emphasized the importance of resolving ownership problems that contribute to the perpetuation of violence.

Oluyede noted that many individuals in these states are complicit in the heinous acts of terrorism. He referenced a recent attack in Kukuwa, where two people were injured, indicating a broader issue of community complicity.

Vice President Kashim Shettima had previously mentioned that 23 lives were lost and 100 people were injured in bomb-related incidents. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed security services to implement remedial measures to address the escalating violence in the region.
