Nigerian Army Announces Major Senior Officer Redeployment

The Nigerian Army has executed a major redeployment of senior officers aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness and enhancing leadership capacity in response to evolving security challenges. This initiative, approved by Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, seeks to align the Army's command structure with current security realities.

Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, stated that the redeployment is designed to position experienced officers in critical operational theatres and strategic institutions. Key appointments include Major General IA Ajose as Theatre Commander of the Theatre Command Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, and Major General AE Abubakar as Dean of the Faculty of Operational Research at the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre.

Other notable changes involve Major General AM Umar as Commandant of the Army War College Nigeria and Major General GS Muhammed as Director General of the Nigerian Army Finance Corporation. The reshuffle also includes various brigadier generals reassigned to different operational commands.
