APC Plans Major Restructuring Under Tinubu's Leadership

The All Progressives Congress (APC), under the leadership of Bola Tinubu, is set to restructure its National Working Committee (NWC) and Presidency to fortify the party's leadership. This restructuring involves rotating NWC positions across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones to ensure broader representation and accommodate the interests of governors who recently defected.

The party aims to consolidate internal cohesion ahead of upcoming congresses and the national convention. The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), chaired by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, reaffirmed its commitment to deepening internal democracy and enhancing party structures.

The proposed changes include potential adjustments to NWC positions among the geopolitical zones, with a focus on transparency in financial management during congresses and conventions. Additionally, the party plans to engage in strategic visits to states, starting with Taraba State, to strengthen grassroots structures and party unity.

Discussions on the swap of NWC positions among zones are pending Tinubu's input, with considerations for a possible presidential run mate slot from the North West and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) position from the North East.
