Wike's Aide Claims Makinde Desperate for VP Slot

Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to Governor Nyesom Wike, claimed that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is "desperately looking" for a vice presidential slot. Olayinka described Makinde as "partyless" and accused him of threatening violence, suggesting that he has lost the support of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

He further criticized Makinde's governance, stating that the political landscape in the southwest is no longer favorable to him. Olayinka expressed concern over the potential for violence, emphasizing that even as a sitting governor, Makinde has failed to maintain security and control within the PDP.

He also referenced the failed bid to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rahidi Adewolu Ladoja, and mentioned the refusal of Sharafadeen Alli to account for N30 billion collected from the federal government. Olayinka concluded by stating that Makinde's desperation for a vice presidential ticket with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is evident.
