Oyo Governor Makinde Announces N10,000 Salary Top-Up

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde announced a salary top-up of N10,000 for workers in response to the recent fuel price hike. This initiative, disclosed during a program in Ibadan on Monday, aims to cushion the financial burden on workers.

The additional monthly salary will be provided for a minimum of three months, starting in April, and is designed to support local government workers with transportation costs amid rising petrol prices. The governor emphasized the necessity of this measure, stating that it may be extended depending on the situation regarding fuel subsidies.

He assured that the Oyo State government would manage the program effectively to ensure inclusivity and proper handling of the funds.
