Makinde Supports Peace-Promoting Faith Institutions

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting religious institutions that promote peace, unity, and development during the 120th anniversary celebration of the First Baptist Church, Idikan, Ibadan. He congratulated the church and the Nigerian Baptist Convention on this significant milestone, describing the church as a historic institution that has greatly contributed to the spiritual and moral development of Oyo State.

Makinde expressed his hope that the next 120 years would surpass the past achievements. He commended the church's leadership, pastors, and members for their dedication to the gospel and community service.

During the event, Rev. Dr. David Olushola Idowu, President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, presented an award to Makinde, acknowledging his support for the church and its evangelical activities, including a donation of a Hummer bus. Special prayers were offered for Makinde, Oyo State, and Nigeria at the celebration, attended by various dignitaries.
