Oyo State's Ibikunle Advocates Daily Peace Investment

Reverend Femi Ibikunle, the Special Adviser on Interfaith to the Oyo State Governor, called on Nigerians to invest in peace during the 2026 International Peace Day celebration held in Ibadan. He stated that peace is not merely the absence of war but involves justice, security, dignity, and opportunity.

Ibikunle emphasized that peace must be actively built and defended daily, urging citizens to invest in peace as they do in roads and businesses. He highlighted the importance of promoting equity and humanity in communities and stressed that peace should be a daily commitment rather than a once-a-year observance.

Pastor Tunji Agboola, the Executive Director of Goodworker Ministry International, supported this message, stating that true peace requires investment in social trust and justice. He warned against misinformation on social media and outlined five commitments to peace, including managing anger and investing in education.

The event was organized by the Aviary Association Worldwide in collaboration with the United Nations.
