Makinde Swears in 17 Permanent Secretaries in Oyo

On Tuesday, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde swore in 17 newly appointed permanent secretaries in a ceremony held at the Executive Council Chamber of the Governor's Office in Ibadan. In his address, Makinde urged the appointees to demonstrate loyalty to Oyo State and to effectively discharge their duties.

He emphasized that the appointment process was based on merit and competence, avoiding undue influence, and aimed to balance geopolitical zones and religious interests. Makinde warned against allowing personal interests to conflict with official responsibilities, stating that loyalty to the state is paramount, especially as a new governor will emerge next year.

The 17 new permanent secretaries include eight from the mainstream civil service, four from the education sector, and three from local government services. The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal, former Deputy Governor Hamid Gbadamosi, Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin, Chief Judge Iyabo Yerima, and other key officials.
