Judge Warns Against Influencing Abubakar Malami's Money Laundering Trial

Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court issued a stern warning to parties involved in the ongoing trial of Abubakar Malami, cautioning against attempts to influence the court proceedings. The case involves allegations of money laundering amounting to 8.7 billion naira against Malami's son, Abdulaziz Malami, his wife, and an employee of Rahamaniyya Properties Limited.

The judge emphasized the need for proper conduct in court and set bail conditions at 500 million naira each for the accused. Malami was ordered to be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Center pending the fulfillment of bail conditions.

The trial is scheduled to commence on February 17, 2026.
