Abdulaziz Malami's Terrorism Financing Trial Set for 2026

The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled the trial of Abdulaziz Malami, son of former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, for March 10, 2026. Abdulaziz was arraigned by the Department of State Services (DSS) on February 27, 2026, facing five counts related to terrorism financing and illegal possession of firearms.

The court, presided over by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, granted him bail set at N200 million, requiring two sureties who own property in highbrow areas such as Maitama or Asokoro. The DSS alleges that Abdulaziz Malami knowingly abetted terrorism financing and unlawfully possessed a Sturm Magnum 17 firearm and live ammunition.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Rotimi Oyedepo, informed the court that the DSS needed time to familiarize itself with the case facts. The matter was adjourned to March 4, 2026, for further proceedings.
