Gembu Mbamnga Yang Lip Road Project Set for 2025 Launch

The Gembu Mbamnga Yang Lip road project is set to commence in January 2025, with an expected completion date of July 2027. This infrastructure initiative aims to link the Mambilla Plateau to the Cameroon border, addressing long-standing connectivity issues in the region.

The project, valued at 71 billion Naira, is part of the Tinubu Administration's efforts to improve infrastructure and community development. The absence of adequate roads has historically hindered access to healthcare for residents, particularly pregnant mothers in surrounding villages.

Currently, the lack of infrastructure forces people to rely on makeshift means, such as canoes and footbridges, to cross the Donga River for medical care. The project is seen as a significant step towards fulfilling promises made over 65 years ago regarding infrastructure development in the area, which has faced neglect since the 1990s.
