Ogun Police Arrest Suspect in Minor's Kidnapping Case

A suspect was apprehended by the Ogun State Police Command's anti-kidnap unit for allegedly killing a minor, Florenc Adegbaaju, after collecting a ransom of ₦500,000. The incident occurred in the Ogiijo area, where the victim was abducted last month.

DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed that the suspect admitted to the crime, stating he acted alone. Following the ransom payment, the victim was reportedly killed, and her body was disposed of in a river.

The police are actively working to recover the remains and have initiated forensic procedures for further investigation. Bode Ojajuni, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, expressed condolences to the victim's family and assured them that justice would be pursued diligently.

During the operation, a single-barrel long gun and six live cartridges were recovered, and the suspect attempted to evade arrest by fleeing on an unregistered Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, discarding the firearm in nearby bushes.
