Rufu Giwa Polytechnic Denies Student Status of Deceased

The management of Rufu Giwa Polytechnic in Owo, Ondo State, issued a statement on Thursday clarifying that Audu Emmanuel, a 20-year-old man found dead in a suspected suicide, was not a student of the institution. The deceased was reported to have been found hanging in a room off-campus.

Mr. Olumid Olugosi, the Senior Assistant Registrar for Public Relations and Protocol, stated that while the name Audu Emmanuel appeared in previous admission records, he had not completed the necessary academic programs and was therefore not recognized as an active student. The institution noted that he had failed to sit for examinations and had not fulfilled the requirements for his admission into the Computer Engineering Technology department.

Rufu Giwa Polytechnic expressed sympathy for the family of the deceased and warned against the spread of unverified information that could mislead the public regarding the individual's status.
