Anambra State Tax Relief for Manufacturers Commended

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) praised Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for his efforts to alleviate the tax burden on manufacturers during a high-level stakeholder engagement in Awka.

Ada Chukwudozi, representing MAN, noted that manufacturers in Anambra have faced harassment from unauthorized tax collectors exploiting ambiguities in tax levies. She acknowledged improvements following the governor's directives in April 2026, which instructed revenue collectors to refrain from disrupting business activities.

The meeting emphasized the need for clearer tax administration and coordination between state and local governments to eliminate overlapping tax levies. Stanlei Nkwoka suggested harmonizing tax administration to streamline collections, while Dr.

Chibuez Ofobuik proposed establishing a committee to review and recommend measures for improved tax transparency. The stakeholders agreed on the formation of a tripartite committee to address these issues and enhance the business environment in Anambra State.
