Son Arrested for Allegedly Killing Mother in Osun

Taye Kasali was arrested by the Osun State Police Command on September 7, 2026, in connection with the murder of his mother, Kudirat Kasali. The incident occurred on August 31, 2026, when Taye allegedly killed Kudirat by slitting her throat with a machete after she threatened to lease the family farm, which he considered their primary source of livelihood.

Following a report of their disappearance on September 1, 2026, police initiated an investigation. Taye confessed to the crime during interrogation and led police to the shallow grave where Kudirat's remains were buried, along with the machete used in the murder.

The State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zungura, has ordered a thorough investigation, and Taye will be charged in court upon completion of the probe. The police urged the public to report missing persons and suspicious activities promptly.
