Police Arrest Suspect in Calabar Rape Case of Minor

The Cross River State Police Command has arrested a suspect named Felix Solomon in relation to the alleged sexual assault and rape of a 15-year-old girl in Calabar. The incident was reported on September 8, 2026, at the Ikpa Omin Police Division.

The victim was reportedly forcibly taken to a residence in the 8 Miles area on September 4, 2026, where she was sexually assaulted by two suspects and held against her will for approximately three days. ASP Sunday Eitokpah, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest and stated that Solomon is currently assisting investigators.

The police have initiated an investigation and are working to identify and apprehend other suspects involved. The Cross River Commissioner of Police, CP Ajo Ordue, has mandated a professional investigation and assured that anyone found guilty will face prosecution.

The police have also emphasized the importance of protecting the victim's identity and warned against media trials, affirming that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
