Maryam Shehu Joins Transcorp Power Board as Director

Maryam Bala Shehu has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Transcorp Power Plc, effective September 1, 2026. This appointment will be ratified at the next Annual General Meeting.

Shehu has nearly three decades of experience in the energy sector, including over two decades in senior leadership roles at TotalEnergies S.A. E&P subsidiaries in Nigeria and a secondment to Nigeria LNG Limited.

Her career at TotalEnergies included roles in finance, economics, gas commercial operations, and enterprise administration, culminating in her positions as General Manager, Deepwater Administration, and Deputy General Manager, Gas Commercial. Emmanuel Nnorom, Chairman of the Board of Transcorp Power Plc, expressed confidence in Shehu's ability to contribute to the company's expansion and governance.

Shehu's board experience includes roles with the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria and finance oversight within the Nigeria LNG Group. She is a Fellow of several professional institutes and holds an MBA from IESE Business School, Spain, and a B.Sc. in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
