Woman Arrested for Stabbing Husband to Death in Abia

Sara Innocent has been arrested by the Abia State Police Command for allegedly stabbing her husband, Innocent Nwaoji, to death during a domestic dispute. The incident took place on the night of August 8, 2026, in Umuokereke Ngwa, located in the Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.

According to Maureen Chinaka, the Police Public Relations Officer, the police received a report at the Ohuru Isimiri Police Divisional Headquarters regarding the incident. It was reported that Sara Innocent stabbed her husband in the chest with a kitchen knife during a misunderstanding.

Following the stabbing, Innocent Nwaoji was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor. The police have visited the crime scene, and the victim's body has been deposited at the morgue for an autopsy.

Sara Innocent is currently in police custody, and a discreet investigation is ongoing at the State Criminal Investigation Department. The couple had been married for barely eight months, having wed in December 2025.
