20-Year-Old Allegedly Kills Father in Anambra State

Pascal Ogbogu, a 20-year-old man, allegedly murdered his 56-year-old father with a machete in Abatete, located in the Idemili North local government area of Anambra State, on August 25, 2026. Following the incident, Ogbogu fled the scene.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, reported that he was apprehended in the early hours of August 26, 2026. This arrest was made possible through a coordinated effort involving the Anambra State Police and members of the Abatete vigilante, aided by timely information and cooperation from community members.

The Commissioner of Police for Anambra State, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, commended the prompt response and community support that led to Ogbogu's arrest.
