Manchester City Rejects Barcelona's £55m Bid for Rodri

Manchester City has turned down a £55 million bid from Barcelona for midfielder Rodri, who is a Spain international. This follows an earlier offer of around £40 million, which City also rejected.

Barcelona is determined to sign Rodri, viewing him as a key target to enhance their midfield options for the upcoming season. However, Manchester City is seeking a significantly higher fee, reportedly between €70 million and €80 million, before considering Rodri's departure.

The difference in valuation poses a challenge for negotiations, especially given Barcelona's current financial constraints. Rodri is entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, but Manchester City is reluctant to sell him, preferring to negotiate a contract extension.

The club considers Rodri an essential player in their plans moving forward. While City would not obstruct a transfer if Rodri formally requests one, they remain hopeful of reaching an agreement for a new deal.
