Rodri Joins Barcelona for £65 Million Transfer Deal

Rodri, whose full name is Rodrigo Hernández Cascante, has officially transferred from Manchester City to FC Barcelona in a deal reportedly worth up to £65 million. He has signed a four-year contract with the Catalan club, committing to them until June 30, 2030.

The announcement was made by FC Barcelona, confirming the agreement with Manchester City. Rodri, who captained Spain to victory in the 2026 World Cup, expressed his enthusiasm for this new chapter in his career, stating he is eager to compete for major trophies, particularly the UEFA Champions League, which Barcelona has not won since 2015.

He emphasized that he is joining a highly ambitious club that aligns with his personality and is determined to contribute to the team's objectives this season. Additionally, Rodri becomes the 20th player from Madrid to play for Barcelona and previously won the Ballon d'Or in 2024 while at Manchester City.
