Six Nasarawa University Students Abducted by Gunmen

On the night of May 6, 2026, six students from the Faculty of Engineering at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, were abducted by unidentified gunmen. The incident occurred when armed hoodlums stormed a student lodge located in Anguwar Ninzo, Gudi, on the outskirts of the community.

The Nasarawa State Police Command received a distress call around 9 PM regarding the invasion. Following the attack, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro, visited the scene to assess the situation and assured the university community of ongoing security efforts for the safe release of the victims.

The police command has redeployed personnel to the area and coordinated field operations to rescue the abducted students. A combined security team, including the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Military, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Vigilant Group, has been mobilized to intensify efforts to track down the abductors.

The police have urged the public to remain calm and vigilant, encouraging anyone with information to report to the nearest police station.
