Oluwo of Iwo Advocates for Tinubu's Third Term Bid

Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulroshe Akanbi, indicated that many Nigerians might push for a constitutional amendment to enable President Bola Tinubu to pursue a third term in office. This remark was made in a congratulatory message issued by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Alli, on the occasion of Tinubu's 74th birthday.

The Oluwo praised Tinubu's leadership style and noted that his administration has taken a firm stance against practices that previously hindered economic growth. He highlighted measures that have led to economic improvements under the current government, including a stronger naira and an increase in foreign reserves from $49.5 billion to $50.45 billion between late February and March 2026.

The monarch attributed these developments to key policy reforms, a unified exchange rate, and higher oil production, which have contributed to increased foreign investment inflow.
