MAPOLY Students Protest Fee Hike with Sit-at-Home Action

The Students’ Union Government of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic has announced a sit-at-home protest scheduled for Monday, August 3, 2026, to express dissatisfaction with a recent increase in school fees. The directive was issued following unsuccessful negotiations with the institution's management regarding the revised fees.

The statement, signed by Students’ Union President Afolabi Temitope, Acting Speaker Olorode Kehinde, General Secretary Ekundayo Gbenga, and Public Relations Officer Oloyede Ganiyu, emphasized the importance of prioritizing students' welfare. The union has engaged in multiple discussions with management since the new fees were posted on the students’ portal but found their concerns unresolved.

The union stressed that the protest is a peaceful demonstration and urged students to avoid confrontations. They also requested transport service providers to suspend operations in solidarity.

The union reaffirmed its commitment to dialogue with the management, stating that the protest does not signify an end to negotiations.
