The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) defended its N1.28 billion solar streetlight projects as National Assembly constituency interventions, clarifying they were approved in the Federal Government’s budget and not outside its mandate.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) clarified that the N1.28 billion solar streetlight projects executed between May and June 2025 were funded by the Federal Government, not TCN's resources. TCN was designated as the implementing agency by the National Assembly.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria clarified that the solar streetlight projects, costing N1.28 billion, are National Assembly Constituency Projects aimed at enhancing security in vulnerable communities. TCN stated it is the implementing agency, following government protocols an
