Kachikwu Accuses Mark of Hijacking ADC Party Structure

Dumebi Kachikwu, a former senator and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accused David Mark, a former Senate president, of hijacking the party's structure and pushing loyalists out. Kachikwu made these allegations during a press conference on Thursday, stating that Mark's faction is illegitimate and has overridden the party's constitutional structure.

He sought a restraining order from the Federal High Court in Abuja to prevent the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing Mark's faction. Kachikwu described the proceedings of Mark's faction as a "kangaroo convention" and warned that the party is facing multiple court cases across Nigeria.

He emphasized the need for the party to remain vigilant and united against attempts to undermine its integrity. Kachikwu's legal team has filed an appeal to maintain the status quo in the leadership tussle, while Mark's faction argues that the dispute is an internal party matter beyond judicial intervention.
