Dangote Refinery Expands Free Petrol Delivery Initiative

Independent petroleum marketers have commended Dangote Refinery's initiative to expand its free petroleum product delivery program to Imo and other states, stating it could alleviate operational pressures, enhance cash flow, and lower pump prices across Nigeria. The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) noted that this initiative would significantly ease the financial burden of sourcing and transporting petroleum products.

Chinedu Ukadike, IPMAN's National Publicity Secretary and Public Relations Officer, explained that marketers often face delays after paying upfront for products, which ties up their capital. The refinery's approach allows for quicker recovery of investments and potentially cheaper petrol for consumers due to reduced logistics costs.

Despite the praise, IPMAN urged Dangote Refinery to extend the delivery scheme to more regions, especially northern states, to promote uniform petrol pricing and mitigate transportation cost disparities. The refinery has been expanding its distribution network, aiming to make petroleum products more accessible nationwide.
