APC Members Defect en Masse to NDC in Katsina

A mass defection of members from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) occurred in Katsina State, with the defectors announcing their decision during a rally at the NDC headquarters in Old GRA, Katsina. The defectors cited unfulfilled promises and the failure of the APC to ensure national security as major reasons for their switch.

Alhaji Aliyu Ilu Bard, the NDC state chairman, welcomed the new entrants, highlighting the party's credibility and capability to address pressing issues such as economic hardship and insecurity. Hajiya Maryam Aminu Mani, the state women leader, praised the defectors' decision and encouraged more women to formally join the NDC, expressing optimism for the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Hajiya Daharatu Yar Adua, one of the defectors, expressed dissatisfaction with the APC's leadership and committed to contributing positively to the NDC.
