Kano Hisbah Initiates Medical Screening for Mass Wedding

The Kano Hisbah Board, represented by Deputy Commandant General Mujahideen Aminudddeen, has commenced medical screenings for 3,000 prospective couples in preparation for a mass wedding event. This initiative will cover individuals from 24 local government areas, including Rogo, Wudil, Tudun Wada, and others.

The screenings will test for HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, and pregnancy among female applicants. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf previously announced plans to sponsor the marriage of 1,500 men and 1,500 women, primarily targeting widows, divorcees, and orphans from low-income backgrounds.

Each groom will receive a dowry support of 100,000 Naira, and couples will be provided with household items such as beds, mattresses, wardrobes, and food supplies. Additionally, beneficiaries will receive a 100,000 Naira grant to start small business initiatives.

The Hisbah Board aims to promote social stability, reduce economic hardship, and empower families across the state, with participation based on mutual consent.
