PDP Launches Ogun 2027 Governorship Campaign in Abeokuta

On Wednesday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) officially launched its campaign for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election at Ake Palace Pavilion in Abeokuta, attracting thousands of supporters. The event commenced around 10 am, with party members dressed in PDP attire singing solidarity songs and waving flags featuring the images of governorship candidate Ladi Adebutu and deputy candidate ‘Yemi Showunmi-Kolapo.

The procession from the PDP Secretariat to the venue was marked by a massive turnout, causing significant traffic disruption. Despite heavy rain, attendees celebrated with music and dancing.

In his speech titled “A Call to Liberation,” Adebutu urged the electorate to vote out the All Progressives Congress, promising to end corruption and misgovernance. He outlined his governance plans, which include enhancing security, local government autonomy, and economic development, and assured that workers and pensioners would receive their entitlements promptly.

The election is scheduled for February 6, 2027.
