Chinese FA Penalizes Nine Clubs for Match-Fixing in Super League

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) has taken action against match-fixing in the Chinese Super League by deducting points from nine clubs ahead of the upcoming season. Shanghai Shenhua and Tianjin Teda were among the teams penalized, with Tianjin Teda receiving the harshest punishment of a 10-point deduction.

In addition to point penalties, 13 clubs involved in the scandal were fined varying amounts. This crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to combat corruption in Chinese football, with 43 officials and players receiving lifetime bans in September 2024.

The CFA reaffirms a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption as the CSL prepares to kick off its new season.
