Minister Ata Urges Compassion and Peace During Maulud

On 25 August 2026, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, extended greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and globally in celebration of Maulud, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

In his statement, he emphasized the importance of this period for Muslims to reflect on the Prophet's life and teachings, particularly His values of compassion, justice, humility, patience, and peaceful coexistence. Minister Ata encouraged Muslims to embody these principles in their daily lives and to focus on kindness, honesty, tolerance, and responsibility.

He also called on Nigerians to pray for peace, stability, and progress in the country, while supporting government initiatives aimed at improving citizens' welfare. Ata reaffirmed his commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which includes expanding access to affordable housing and promoting sustainable urban development.

He wished all Muslim faithful a peaceful Maulud celebration and prayed for Nigeria's peace, unity, and prosperity.
