Enugu Governor Mbah Approves Promotion for 2,114 Workers

On Tuesday, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State approved the promotion and conversion of 2,114 personnel within the state civil service. This decision is part of a promotion exercise conducted from November to December 2025, as disclosed by Mr.

Robison Odo, Chairman of the Enugu State Civil Service Commission. The promotions will take immediate effect, including financial implications associated with the new ranks.

Odo confirmed that the exercise covered office grade levels 01 to 17, with successful candidates having passed mandatory interviews. The commission aims to expedite the implementation of the governor's directive, which reflects changes in the state's payroll.

The state is committed to maintaining a minimum wage of N80,000, exceeding national benchmarks, and ensuring timely payment of salaries and pensions. Dr.

Godwin Anigbo, head of service, emphasized that this promotion exercise is part of broader reforms aimed at enhancing public service efficiency and includes initiatives for modernizing workforce skills.
