Enugu Governor Mbah Approves Promotion for 2,114 Workers

Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has approved the promotion and conversion of 2,114 personnel within the state civil service, following the conclusion of a promotion and conversion exercise conducted in November and December 2025. This decision was disclosed by the Chairman of the Enugu State Civil Service Commission, Robison Odo, in a statement issued by the governor's media office on Tuesday.

The promotions, which take immediate effect, include financial implications associated with the new ranks. Odo confirmed that the exercise covered office grade levels 01 to 17 for those who successfully passed the mandatory interview examination.

The administrative process aims to ensure beneficiaries access their new emoluments without delay. The commission is set to expedite the implementation of the governor's directive, reflecting changes in the state’s payroll.

The governor's recent approval is part of a broader policy aimed at enhancing worker welfare, including maintaining a minimum wage of N80,000, which exceeds the national benchmark, and ensuring timely payment of salaries and pensions.
