McEnies Global Communications Enhances Climate-Health Link

McEnies Global Communications is leading an initiative to integrate climate and health data in Nigeria, collaborating with the UK Met Office, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), and the UK Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), alongside the Rockefeller Foundation. Dr. Omolaraeni Olaosebikan, Chief Executive Officer of McEnies, emphasized the potential of meteorological data to transform health outcomes by informing decision-makers in the health sector.

The project, known as the Wiser Health Project, aims to ensure timely and equitable responses to local health challenges influenced by climate conditions. McEnies is also working with various agencies, including the Federal Ministry of Health and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), to conduct community surveys and cross-sector workshops.

These efforts are designed to build early warning services that are responsive to local realities and to develop community strategies for mitigating flood risks in Nigeria, thereby strengthening the country's climate resilience in health systems.
