Kwara Govt to Mobilize Military for Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign

The Kwara State Government plans to deploy military personnel to insecure areas to ensure the success of the Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign. The campaign is scheduled to run from October 11 to 20, 2025, across 16 local government areas.

Professor Nusirat Elelu of the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency highlighted the importance of this initiative in reaching the global target of eliminating measles and rubella by 2030. The decision to involve the military comes after security challenges were reported in areas like Kwara South and Kwara North.

The government aims to protect the health of the people while addressing security concerns during the immunization drive.
