Oluremi Tinubu Launches Agri360 Mechanisation Initiative

On Wednesday, Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, stated that empowering women and young Nigerians with skills and tools for modern agriculture is essential for the sector's future and the country's food security. She made this statement while representing herself at the National Colloquium on the Role of Women and Youth in Advancing Agricultural Mechanisation in Nigeria, held at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja.

The event unveiled the Agri360 Mechanisation Training Initiative, launched by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, which aims to train 5,000 women and youths in agricultural mechanisation, digital agriculture, equipment operation, and agribusiness management. Tinubu noted that mechanisation would enhance productivity and make agriculture more appealing to the youth.

Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, supported this initiative, stating it aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes agriculture as a driver of economic growth and job creation.
