Adamu Joins GIBS 2026 Executive Media Leadership Cohort

Adamu and Oluwamayowa Idowu have been chosen to participate in the GIBS 2026 Executive Media Leadership Cohort, a four-month program designed to strengthen media leadership in Africa. This cohort includes ten South Africans, six Kenyans, two Nigerians, and one Namibian, representing a diverse media ecosystem.

The program, which runs from July to October 2026, will focus on integrating artificial intelligence into sustainable media business models. Michael Markovitz, the program director, emphasized the importance of collaboration and leadership in addressing challenges faced by the African media sector.

The initiative is supported by scholarships from the Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF) and Google, aiming to invest in independent media leadership. Participants will engage in practical strategies to navigate market pressures and enhance their influence on digital platforms.

The program will culminate in a capstone project addressing real-world challenges in African media organizations.
