Medvedev Wins Second Dubai Title After Griekspoor Withdraws

Daniil Medvedev claimed his second Dubai title on Saturday after Tallon Griekspoor withdrew from the final due to a left hamstring injury. Griekspoor sustained the injury towards the end of his semi-final match against Andrei Rublev on Friday.

Following a medical assessment, the tournament announced Griekspoor was unfit to play in the ATP 500 men's final. Medvedev expressed his disappointment for Griekspoor but was pleased with his own performance throughout the tournament, noting he had played four matches and felt confident heading into the next ATP 1000 event in California.

He highlighted the challenges posed by the ongoing Iranian strikes affecting UAE airspace, which could disrupt travel plans for players. This victory marks Medvedev's second title in Dubai, adding to his total of 22 trophies across 22 different events.

He emphasized his eagerness to maintain his momentum in future competitions.
