Tunji Disu Appointed Acting Inspector-General of Police

Tunji Disu, aged 59 and born in Lagos, has been appointed as the Acting Inspector-General of Police by President Bola Tinubu, succeeding Kayode Egbetokun who resigned. Disu's career in the Nigeria Police Force began on May 18, 1992, and spans over three decades, showcasing extensive experience in police leadership.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in English Education from Lagos State University, along with two Master's degrees in Public Administration and Criminology. Disu has held several key roles, including commanding the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos and leading the Intelligence Response Team.

His professional training includes specialized courses in areas such as small arms smuggling and internet fraud. Disu has received recognition for his leadership, including the Police Commissioner's Award.

He is also affiliated with international professional bodies, emphasizing his commitment to global policing standards. His appointment comes at a critical time focused on security reform in Nigeria.
