Nigerian Military Air Strikes Kill 18 Terrorists in Borno

On September 11, 2026, the Air Component of Joint Task Force North-east, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), executed an air interdiction operation in Borno State, specifically targeting terrorist enclaves at Tumbunma Baba. This operation, coordinated with ground troops from Sector 1 OPHK, resulted in the destruction of identified terrorist structures and the neutralization of more than 18 terrorist elements.

Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer of OPHK, stated that the operation was based on credible intelligence gathered over several weeks, which indicated the presence of high-profile terrorists at key logistics nodes. The intelligence was validated through surveillance and reconnaissance, leading to a successful strike that achieved an estimated 85 percent success rate in operational objectives.
