Nigerian Military Enhances Security for Easter Celebrations

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) of Nigeria has confirmed that 100 US military personnel have arrived at Bauchi Airfield to assist in enhancing the country's security situation, particularly during the Easter celebrations. Maj Gen Micheal Onoja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, stated that these personnel will serve in a strictly technical advisory role to support counter-terrorism efforts, not as combat troops.

Despite ongoing security challenges in various parts of the country, the military is confident that the collaboration with the US will yield significant benefits, particularly in intelligence sharing and training. The DHQ has heightened alertness among troops nationwide to prevent any security breaches during the holiday period, as similar measures were implemented during previous festive seasons.

Onoja emphasized that the military will remain vigilant, as adversaries often attempt to exploit such periods, assuring citizens that security agencies will not relax their efforts.
